RANDOM THOUGHTS OF THE DAY

And as random as my thoughts are, stay tuned -- I might come up with others.

I've signed up for my first real training hike!  This Saturday with a group called DC Metropolitan Hikers.  It will be about a 4.5 hour hike and it sounds fairly easy - just what I need for my first hike.  We'll be going to Shenandoah National Park (never been there) and will be hiking Ford Windham Gap.  I'm ready!

I think the next video I make will be about training.  Lighten things up a bit.  I have highs and lows but my fitness level is slowly improving.  All I can say is that I'm glad I have another 11 months before I go!

I'm connecting with some really interesting people on Twitter.  Many, many people who have/have had breast cancer and/or Parkinson's Disease.  A couple of people with both!  And here I thought I was the only one.  One woman has written a book about it: Most of Me: Surviving My Medical Meltdown by Robyn Michele Levy.  I can't wait to read it.  Of course, MY book will take a different path.  (Yep, I'm going to do it!  And by the way: ©Evelyn Heilbrunn, all rights reserved.  There's still some lawyer left in my feeble brain!)

I'm reaching out to various celebrities to get their help in spreading the word.  Good luck on that one!  It's like peeling an onion -- SO many layers.  But sooner or later one of them is going to get sick of my pestering and just say "oh, well.  I'll humor her."  I'm waiting with bated breath!

If you have, have had, or have been newly diagnosed with breast cancer I have the most amazing website for you.  www.beyondtheshock.com.  It's sponsored by the National Breast Cancer Foundation.  It's kind of like a chat site; people ask questions and all aspects of the diagnosis, treatment, and life after treatment.  I ask and answer a lot of questions and on the site are some wonderfully compassionate women.  VERY cool.

Ok, that's it for now!

Reminder: GoFundMe.com, look for my name!
